So I've gone back to 1967 and am working my way forwards, yet again. Reason being that I realised often subtle differences between the various releases of the same LP had been overlooked. Other than a handful of small excursions outwith this chronological approach, I've been poring over matrix markings and spending hours digitising the same albums over and over, then listening closely with a pair of Grados.
Did you realise for example that Walking Backwards is slightly different on the UK release of Bootleg? Or that the UK release has a reversed stereo image? Or that some Verve/MGM releases of Planet have small differences? Or that the Rhema version of Garden has an earlier fade out on Baroquen Spirits?
I've still to complete this exercise with In Another Land, but other than that everything up to and including 1980 has been done. As time consuming as all this is, it makes for a very short list of updates. It could be a huge list, but I'm too lazy to link to all the updated song pages.
