I have finally attained true slackerdom. I could regail you with tales of work done in the garden, of house repairs, of hospital visits and of a trapped nerve. Whilst all of those do refer to real life events, the main reason is of course that  I'm lazy. And I watch too much television. Anyway, I haven't been entirely inactive around here:

Well, I have been busy with a couple of other projects, so progress here has been slower than it otherwise would have been. Still, it's a pretty long list when all typed out - much longer than I expected actually. Lots and lots of new variants added, as well as several corrections made where I had been a bit hung-ho previously!

  • It took me the full three months - from February 19 until yesterday - but I completed the Maximum Garden album page and promoted it to the albums menu
  • Updated relevant song pages reference Maximum Garden, including minor correction to some versions of Nightmare and Up In Canada lyrics
  • Create a song page Amen
  • Updated PeacePollutionRevolution versions 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 lyrics
  • Updated Up In Canada song page to more accurately peg various albums against song versions and to make a minor grammatical fix to versions 1, 3, 4 and 5
  • Added variants UTR-UK16/17/18/19/20 and -US36 to Upon This Rock album page. Also replaced the rear cover image on UTR-US17 and updated its description to denote sleeve detail
  • Added variant Star-AU4 to Larry Norman album page. Also added notes about LP sleeve spine colours
  • Added variant R4R-SW4 to Rehearsal For Reality album page
  • Added variant SNUTS-UK5 and -US15 to Something New Under The Son album page. Also corrected a copy-paste error in SNUTS-US1 side two matrix - it was listed as '2007-A' instead of '2007-B'
  • Updated variant BATA-US2 (Barking At The Ants) to define it as specifically having a one sided insert, as opposed to “at least some copies”
  • Updated IAL-SW matrix notes and added variant IAL-SW3. (In Another Land). Also added variants  IAL-UK16 through -UK18, -US37 and -US38. Did you know that the UK LP was also released with a single slip sleeve? I didn't!
  • Added variant CAAC-US6 to Come As A Child album page. Also updated descriptions and made inclusion or otherwise of the insert non-optional for specific variants
  • Updated Myrrh Only Visiting This Planet variants -UK4 and -UK7 to denote whether or not they have the lyrics insert
  • Added Clown Jewels to the Live In The UK '77 album page and added first pass lyrics for the songs
  • Added variant DUBNO-SW4 to Down Under album page
  • Added variant QuN-US4 to Quiet Night album page
  • Added variant TSOTT-US5 to The Story Of The Tune album page. Also added a missing dash in the side 1 matrix for TSOTT-US1 - it is ARF-99-A, not ARF-99 A
  • Added variant SLATG-US22 through -US25 to So Long Ago The Garden album page. Also separated -US9 and -US10, as they have different pressing rings
  • Added variants OVTP-US49 through -US57, -AU9, -UK8 and -UK9 to Only Visiting This Planet album page. Also  replaced the label images in OVTP-US11
  • Added variant TBOLN-SW4 to The Best Of Larry Norman album page
  • Corrected most copies of 7LTL-UKx, where side B matrix was listed as 2006105 instead of 2006143. See the singles page, vinyl tab
  • Koded 7Ants-US2 and added matrix details. See the singles page, vinyl tab
  • Corrected side two matrix of 7RD-UK1. (It had '1 1' instead of '11'). Also corrected an error that had the matrix catalogue number as 2006143 instead of 2006277
  • Added variants STF-SW5 and -US6 to Stop This Flight album page
  • Added variants Boot-UK5 and -UK6, and -US29 to Bootleg album page. Also updated notes re UK inserts to indicate ‘most if not all’ rather than ‘some’ and added insert images
  • Added variant TSW-UK3 to The Son Worshipers album page
  • Added variant RM3-US5 to Rough Mix 3 album page
  • Updated IAL-NE1 matrix description and added variants IAL-NE7 through NE10. Also added spine colour details to IAL-NE1 through -NE4. (In Another Land)
  • Replaced SL-US28 label images - it has a single pressing ring, not two as was shown. (Street Level)
  • Started colour coding variant Kodes - Green = I own a copy, orange = I don’t. This is for my own reference only of course; doesn't mean anything to you
  • Added Journey To The Son to the top secret the mystery albums page
  • Added insert images to the silver labelled Only Visiting This Planet variants. Also added Scrapbook/insert details to OVTP-US17
  • Added 7ILY-JA promotional variant. See the singles page, People tab
  • Added variant Green-UK3 to the Other Releases page
  • Corrected Nina Hagen UFO and Rock The Flock covers to not mention the album Unity. (On the covers page). Also added several more cover versions to the page generally
  • Corrected a copy=paste error in 7ILY-US7 matrix. The B-side code is 58820, not 58821. See the singles page, People tab
  • Added a Bandcamp player to White Blossoms From Black Roots album page
  • Updated the ??? lyric in version 3 of Blue Shoes White

It's been a long road - longer than I realised - and there is still some way to go. But hopefully by then every album and every song version will be fully documented. ​So there you have it. I know a matrix error is huge news but I think the Kickstarter might be even more interesting. As of now the campaign is concluded, met its target and we are waiting on Charles to finish barbecuing in his back yard and get the CDs and LPs pressed. I've heard the album and genuinely believe it to be the best live Larry release of all. We're now moving into the time period (mid 2000s) where Larry released many limited run 'boutique' titles. These were often live recordings and/or sourced from bootlegs, and consequently require more time to transcribe than albums containing studio recordings do. It might appear like I'm slowing down. If so it's just because 'the going is getting rough'. ;-) This is also the time period where Larry started releasing titles exclusively available to fan club (Solid Rock Army - SRA) members. If you weren't part of that elite band of soldiers then this and the next few updates might well alert you to some cool recordings you didn't even know existed....

Please be aware that these high prices started appearing after the very rare Canadian pressing surfaced and sold for that kind of money. But, a very rare Canadian release does not equal a fairly common UK release. If you reached the end of the list with the feeling that I oversold it somewhat then I would ask you to think for a moment about the numerous versions of Belfast Bootlegs, the extensive differences between them, and the sheer number of tracks they contain. Then consider that each track had to be compared across each version to identify any differences, lyrics transcribed and dozens upon dozens of song pages updated..... Still unimpressed? If so I will forever live in hope of you never becoming my manager and carrying out my appraisal. ;-)
