How this album was described at time of release: Where the woodbine twineth (Cottage Tapes: Book One) was one of our most popular album releases according to you. Now, we are finally releasing And The Rampion Runs Wild - which is BOOK TWO. Norman and Stonehill and a twenty (20) page booklet of new photos and intimate, personal text. Out of these 21 songs, SEVEN (7) of these have never even been released before. It is interesting to hear Uncle Rand during his earlier Stonehehillian days. We are sure you will enjoy this interesting package
what goes thru your mind
[Go to Song Page]
What goes through your mind
What goes through your mind
You think your life is hell
But you've learned to hide it well
But when you sleep at night
Does it all come back
And it’s you who's black inside
Oh who you trying to fool
When you play it cool
You know you have big doubts
Of what life's all about
And questions fill your head
Is God really dead
Is there life after we die
If you're trying to please the world
You're gonna be let down
And the sea of people don't care if you live
Or if you drown
What goes through your mind
What goes through your mind
The things you think you want
They only screw you up
You can be good or bad
Do what you want to do
And it’s up to you to decide
Just what goes through your mind girl
I think you like being blind girl
Look for the truth and you'll find it girl
The truth's ahead, you're behind it girl
Just what goes through your mind girl
I think you like being blind
What goes through your mind
What goes through your mind
You think your life is hell
But you've learned to hide it well
But when you sleep at night

why doncha look into jesus?
[Go to Song Page]
Sipping whiskey from a paper cup
You drown your sorrows ‘til you can’t stand up
Take a look at what you’ve done to yourself
Why don’t you put the bottle back on the shelf
Yellow fingered from your cigarettes
Your hands are shaking while your body sweats
Why don’t you look into Jesus
He's got the answers
Gonorrhoea on valentine’s day (VD [Spoken very faintly])
If you’re still looking for the perfect lay
You think rock ’n’ roll will set you free
Honey, you’ll be deaf before you’re thirty three
Shooting junk until you’re half insane
Broken needle in your purple vein
Why don’t you look into Jesus
He's got the answers
You work all night, sleep all day
Take your money, throw it all away
You say you’re gonna be a superstar
But you've never hung around enough to find out who you really are
Now think back to when you were a child
Your soul was free and your heart ran wild
Each day was different, life was a thrill
You knew tomorrow would be better still
But things have changed, you’re much older now
If you’re unhappy and you don’t know how
Why don’t you look into Jesus
He got the answers
Yea-ah
Ah-why don’t you look into Jesus
He got the answers
I said now
Oh why don’t you look into Jesus
He got the answer
Why don’t you look into Jesus

i've searched all around the world
[Go to Song Page]
Darkness can't hide much longer
The spirit is getting stronger
You keep the dance halls humming
But the end of the age is coming
I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth
I've opened the mouth of love and found a wisdom tooth
Maybe you think I'm plastic
But your situation's drastic
I'm glad my faith is stronger
This world won't last much longer
I've searched all around the world to find a place of peace
I've sat in the shade of God and watched the joy increase
Na na na na na na
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Maybe you think I'm plastic
But your situation's drastic
This time you can't restrain me
Though in the past you've slain me
Maybe you think I'm wrong now
But this is my only song now
I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth
I've opened the mouth of love and found a wisdom tooth
Yes I've searched all around the world to find a place of peace
I've sat in the shade of God and watched the joy increase
Well I've searched all around the world to find a grain of truth
And I've opened the mouth of love and I found a wisdom tooth
Yes I've searched all around the world to find a place of peace
And I've sat in the shade of God and I’ve
Darkness can't hide much longer

You're so plain plain plain
But I love you
Sigrid Jane Jane Jane
You're insane Sigrid Jane
But I love you
You’re never treated anything but wrong
And no one's ever loved you for long
But you were sure that someday love would ride
You knew that love would come along and be a welcome surprise

she's a dancer
[Go to Song Page]
She’s a dancer in the garden
And she dances with the flowers
In the early morning hours
When the wind shifts
And the fog drifts
She’s a dancer
She’s a dancer and she knows it
Everywhere she goes she shows it
Condescending
Not pretending
No regretting
No forgetting
She’s a dancer
And on my early morning walks I often find her
I sit pretending that I’m looking at the paper
Ooh-ooh
And on my early morning walks I often find her
I sit pretending that I’m looking at the paper
Ooh-ooh
And when people stop to watch her
She pretends she doesn’t see them
Doesn’t need them
And where she goes
There the wind blows
Though it’s only with the flowers
That she dances
And on my early morning walks I often find her
I sit pretending that (I sit there) I’m looking at the paper
Ooh-ooh
She’s a dancer in the garden
And she dances with the flowers

Ah
Taking my time
Filling the holes
Resting my mind
Growing my soul
Love is divine
And reading the scrolls
Is making me whole

six sixty six
[Go to Song Page]
In the midst of the war he offered us peace
He came like a lover from out of the east
With the face of an angel and the heart of a beast
His intentions were six sixty six
He walked up to the temple with gold in his hand
And he bought off the priest and propositioned the land
And the world was his harlot and laid in the sand
While the band played six sixty six
La la na, la la na, na na la, na na na
Na na na, na na, na na na, na na na
Na na na, na na la, la na na, la la la
Na na na, na na na, na na na
We served at his table and slept on the floor
But he starved us and beat us and nailed us to the door
Well I'm ready to die, I can't take any more
And I'm sick of his lies and his tricks
He told us he loved us but that was a lie
There was blood in his pockets and death in his eye
Well my number is up and I'm willing to die
If the band will play six
If the band will play six sixty
If the band will play six sixty six
La la la [x13]

How I love to dance [Spoken]
I had the rhythm of living in my shoes
Along come the rhythm and blues
The blues caught up and put me in a trance
And my shoes refused to dance dance dance dance wo oh oh
My life began to slip and slide
And I had no hope, no place to hide
I borrowed a gun, I had nothing to lose
I figured it's time to hang up my shoes
He came along that very day
He asked me why I walk this way
My soles half worn and my tongue hung about
And with a broken laces I'm tripping out, out
He said to me, get up and walk
And I said why don't we sit down and talk
He said how 'bout a new soul
I said huh, no chance, I'm gonna put these shoes in an ambulance
Be-u-bap, be-u-bap, woo
Ba-da-da ba-ba-ba-ba na-na-na-na ba-ba-oh
La-la-ba ra-pa-pa ba-ra-pa-ba–pa ba-pa-ba-pa
Woo-ah
Aah-ah-ah-ah-ah
How I love to dance
He reached right out and touched my toes
Everybody knows how the rest of the story goes
If you're steppin' through life then my appeal
Is to follow in his footsteps and get your soles reheeled
And if you wanna give your feet a treat
Then get ready to walk down that golden street
But be careful how you use your shoes
And don't waste your time on the rhythm and blues
Ow

without love you are nothing
[Go to Song Page]
You can be a righteous rocker
Or a holy roller
You can be most anything
You can be a Leon Russell
Or a super muscle
You can be a corporate king
You can be a wealthy man from Texas
Or a witch with heavy hexes
But without love, you are nothing, without love
Without love you are nothing, without love
You can be a brilliant surgeon
Or a sweet young virgin
Or a harlot out to sell
You can learn to play the blues
Or be Howard Hughes
Or the Scarlet Pimpernel
You can be a French provincial midwife
Or go from door to door with a death-knife
But without love you are nothing, without love
Without love you are nothing, without love
Go [Spoken]
You could be a woman feeler
Or a baby stealer
You can drink your life away
Or you can be a holy prophet
Get a blessing off it
You can fast for fifty days, hey
You can shake hands with the devil
Or give your life to God on the level
But without love you are nothing, without love
Without love you are nothing, without love
Without love you are nothing, without love, love
Without love you are nothing, without love
You can be a righteous rocker
That's right
You can be a holy roller
You ain't nothing
You can be a righteous rocker
Or a holy roller
But you ain't nothing without love, without love
Without love you are nothing, without love
You can shake hands with the devil
You ain’t nothing
And if you boogie with the devil then you ain't on the level with love
You can be a righteous rocker
Or a holy roller
You can be most anything
You can be a Leon Russell
Or a super muscle
You can be a corporate king
You can be a wealthy man from Texas
Or a witch with heavy hexes

With a love like yours
A man could live in beauty and in grace
If I were a king I'd give everything
Just to see your face
With a love like yours
A man could be completely satisfied
He'd have no more fears
He'd shed no more tears
And have no more need to hide
You have saved me
You have saved me
You have saved me from myself [x2]
Ah, you have saved me

The word is revolution
But no one’s fired the shot
Each side has its battle plans
A million counterplots
And the world is closely watching
As we near the battle line
But if you’re truly wise
You’ll keep your eyes on Palestine
The water is polluted
And the air is filled with death
And some day it won’t be easy
To stop and catch your breath
It’s all in Revelations
It’s part of the design
And if you’re truly wise
You’ll keep your eyes on Palestine
Bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah [x2]
I marched for peace in Washington
And things were getting hot
Mmm mmm, I gave blood in Chicago
Went anaemic on the spot
I woulda hitch-hiked to Toronto
But it’s all a waste of time
So I’m writing down this song to you
To sing and pass along to you
And if you’re truly wise
You’ll keep your eyes on Palestine

song for a small circle of friends
[Go to Song Page]
My life is filled with songs
But I just couldn't get along without my friends
And I'm happy now but when this good life ends
I know a better one begins
And love to you sir Stonehill
Armed with your axe full gallop on your amp
Ah, you're so Randy and you show it
And I love you as we both crawl t'ward the lamp
Fred Bova on guitar
With Hilly on the drums
Glenn Selwitz on the Hofner bass
With blisters on his thumbs
Dear Roger watch the dollar hide (Ooh ooh)
And disappear while love inside keeps growing (Ooh ooh)
You're older but less colder (Ooh ooh)
Than the jokes and folks you spent your childhood snowing (Ooh ooh)
And Jesus died for all you friends (Ooh ooh)
But even better yet he lives again (Ooh ooh)
And if words do not appeal to you (Ooh ooh)
I hope his spirit slips on through, he loves you (Ooh)
He loves you
He loves you
And if words do not appeal to you
I hope his spirit slips on through, he loves you

This is for you tonight
I've almost got it
Tension is mounting in the room [Spoken]
When she dabbles in the fancies of a little girl
I see ribbons of imagination draped around her world
And our love could be so strong but she leads me on
Yes our love could be so strong

Pardon me
Kissing you like I'm afraid
But I know I'm being played with
And you'll leave me when you get the chance
Off you'll go
In the darkness of the night
Like a bird in freedom's flight
You're thinking only of deliverance
Ooh ooh ooh
La la la la la la
Mmm hmm mmm
Ah la la la la la
Close your eyes
And pretend that you are me
See how empty it can be
Making love when love's not really there
Not really there
Watch me go
Watch me walk away alone
As your clothing comes undone
And you pull the ribbon from your hair
Pardon me [x3]
Ah ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ah
??? [Spoken]
This is for you tonight
I've almost got it
Tension is mounting in the room [Spoken]
When she dabbles in the fancies of a little girl
I see ribbons of imagination draped around her world
And our love could be so strong but she leads me on
Yes our love could be so strong
[Go to Song Page]
Pardon me
Kissing you like I'm afraid
But I know I'm being played with
And you'll leave me when you get the chance
Off you'll go
In the darkness of the night
Like a bird in freedom's flight
You're thinking only of deliverance
Ooh ooh ooh
La la la la la la
Mmm hmm mmm
Ah la la la la la
Close your eyes
And pretend that you are me
See how empty it can be
Making love when love's not really there
Not really there
Watch me go
Watch me walk away alone
As your clothing comes undone
And you pull the ribbon from your hair
Pardon me [x3]
why don't you look into jesus
[Go to Song Page]
Sipping whiskey from a paper cup
You drown your sorrows ‘til you can’t stand up
Take a look at what you done to yourself
Why don’t ya put the bottle back on the shelf
Yellow fingered from your cigarettes
Your hands are shaking while your body sweats
Why don’t you look into Jesus
He's got the answers
Oh and woah
Gonorrhoea on valentine’s day, VD
And you’re still looking for the perfect lay
You think rock and roll will set you free
Honey, you’ll be deaf before you’re thirty three
Shooting junk 'til you’re half insane
Broken needle in your purple vein
Why don’t you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
Ah ha-ow
You speed all night, you sleep all day
You take your money, throw it all away
You say you’re gonna be a superstar
But you never hung around enough to find out who you really are
Woo
Now think back to when you were a child
Your soul was free and your heart ran wild
Each day was different and life was a thrill
You knew tomorrow would be better still
But things have changed, you’re much older now
If you’re unhappy and you don’t know how
Why don’t you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
Check it for yourself one time
Why don’t you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
Would I lie to you
Why don’t you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
Woo

lonely by myself
[Go to Song Page]
If I could find someone who really cared for me
Someone to share my love and keep me company
If I could find someone, I'd let them take control
And in exchange for love I'd give my very soul
It's such a lonely life, I almost cry each night
'Cause fate has put me on the shelf
I get so lonely, so lonely by myself
If I could find someone who really loved me right
They'd make my life complete, they'd make my soul shine bright
I've searched around the world, I've walked down every street
But I can't find no one to give me what I need
It's such a lonely life, I almost cry each night
'Cause fate has put me on the shelf
I get so lonely, so lonely by myself
I get so lonely by myself
If I could find someone who'd really care for me
Someone to share my love and keep me company
If I could find someone, I'd let them take control
And in exchange for love I'd give my very soul
It's such a lonely life, I almost cry each night
'Cause fate has put me on the shelf
I get so lonely, so lonely by myself
Lonely by myself
Lonely by myself
Doesn't anybody listen
Doesn't anybody care
Doesn't anybody hear me
Isn't anybody there
If I could find someone who really cared for me
Someone to share my love and keep me company
If I could find someone, I'd let them take control
And in exchange for love I'd give my very soul

i am a servant
[Go to Song Page]
I am a servant, I am listening for my name, ye-ey
I sit here waiting, I've been looking at the game
That I've been playing, I've been staying much the same
When you are lonely, you're the only one to blame
I am a servant, I am listening for the call
I've been unfaithful, so I sit here in the hall
How can he use me when I've never given all
Why does he choose me when he knows I'll quickly fall
But he feeds my soul and he makes me grow
And he lets me know he loves me
And I'm worthless now, but I've made a vow
I will humbly bow before thee
Oh please use me, I am lonely
I am a servant, getting ready for my part
There's been a change, a rearrangement in my heart
At last I'm learning, no returning once I start
To live is a privilege, to love is such an art
Oh I need your help to start
Please purify my heart
I am your servant
I am a servant, I am listening for my name, ye-ey
I sit here waiting, I've been looking at the game
That I've been playing, I've been staying much the same

[Go to Song Page]
I know what I'd like to do, since this is the last night and eh they're not gonna let me into the country again anyway you know what I mean. Yeah, ah, I'd like to do a, I'd like to do a song now that 'em, never mind. That eh, that well it's funny because so many people who you know just jokingly said oh you're from America. I said yeah. They said ah and where're your, where's your spurs, do you have cows in your back yard, he-he he-he. An' I, no I don't. I don't have cows in my back yard. Actually, no I don't, haa
Look at your boots though, 'cause I just unfortunately happen to have this pair of boots with straps on and they go haa. Actually they go. Never mind, I was gonna do my English accent again. An' you know. So this is a song dedicated to all those rubes. [laughs] That wasn't even funny was it, break my legs for that. No this is, this is a, a song dedicated to those people who, who tend to stereotype Ameri.. the colonies, excuse me. Um, um, and think of them somewhat like this [Spoken]
Darling please forgive my hasty heart
If I seem a bit
If I seem a bit too hasty please forgive me
But I'm so afraid if I should lose you this time
I'd end upside down inside my mind
Darling, how the hours go so
Darling, how the hours go so slowly
And every new day passes like a year
And I'm constantly tormented by this waiting
Darling how I wish that you was here
Take it [Spoken]
Darling please forgive my, my ha, my hasty heart
If I, if I seem a bit, a bit too hasty
Please forgive me
But I'm so afraid if I should lose you this time

talking intro / blue shoes white
[Go to Song Page]
I said we have mister Arthur Blessit, and he's a man that's been a great strength for me. Maybe you couldn't hear me over all that yelling. Well, some response anyway. Arthur. Oh hey, I just been, I just been hijacked and drafted and shanghai'd from the backstage there to do another song. Ha. It's not that Arthur was hard of hearing, he was just being polite. A-ha ha. Now this is a song, if I could only go [Spoken]
I had the rhythm of living in my shoes
Along come the rhythm and blues
The blues caught up and they put me in a trance
And my shoes refused to da da da dance oh oh
My life began to slip and slide, well
I had no hope, no place to hide
Borrowed a gun, I had nothing to lose
I figured it's time to hang up my shoes
He came along that very day
He asked me why I walk this way
My soles half worn and my tongue hung about
And with a broken laces I was tripping out, out, ou, out, well
He said to me, you get up and walk
And I said he-he why don't we sit down and talk
He said how 'bout a new soul
I said no chance, I'm gonna put these shoes in an ambulance
Woo
He reached right down and touched my toes
And everybody knows how the rest of the story goes
If you're steppin' through life then my appeal
Is to follow in his footsteps and get your soles reheeled
And if you, you wanna give your feet a treat
You get ready to walk down that golden street
But be careful how you use your shoes
Don't waste your time on the rhythm and blues
Woo
He turns blue shoes white
He turns blue shoes white
He turns blue shoes white
He turns blue shoes white
Said na na na na na ha
Na na na na no-ho-oh yes he does
Praise God. Thank you Jesus, yes he does. Now Arthur Blessit [Spoken]

This is a song called Forget Your Hexagram. Forget all the ??? things you do. So many people wanna fight, still wanna have some kind of religion where they can still be a creep and get to heaven. Doesn't work you know, I'm sorry [Spoken]
Forget your hexagram, you'll soon feel fine
Stop looking at the stars
You don't live under the sign no
Don't mess with gypsies
Or have your fortune read
Keep your table on the floor
And don't you listen to the dead
You can't hitchhike your way to heaven
The devil's closed the road
You live once and you die once with no
Re-incarnate episode
You can't hitchhike to heaven
Or get there by just being good
The rules were laid down long ago
When the spikes went in the wood
Heaven is in your mind
When love is in your heart
Maybe you'll find the way
But first you have to start
Forget your hexagram baby, you'll soon feel fine

When you are lonely, you're the only one to blame
I am a servant, I am listening for the call
I've been unfaithful, so I sit here in the hall
How can he use me when I've never given all
How can he choose me when he knows I'll quickly fall
But he feeds my soul and he makes me grow
And he lets me know he loves me
And I'm worthless now, but I've made a vow
I will humbly bow before thee
Please use me, I am lonely
I am a servant, getting ready for my part
There's been a change, a rearrangement in my heart
At last I'm learning, no returning once I start
To live's a privilege, to love is such an art
But I need your help to start
Oh please purify my heart
I am your servant
Ah
I am a servant, I am listening for my name
I sit here waiting, I've been looking at the game
That I've been playing, I've been staying much the same
When you are lonely, you're the only one to blame
I am a servant, I am listening for the call
I've been unfaithful, so I sit here in the hall
How can he use me when I've never given all
How can he choose me when he knows I'll quickly fall

Sunset road to nowhere
What a day it's been and it's getting worse. That's not true, I just wanted to do that 'cause I can test out my accent on you. Gimme a five out of a ten, seven out of a ten. Some people throw things, that's obvious what they feel. Ah, pretty soon Randy Stonehill will be coming out and eh before he, before he does I, I've, I really dig his guitar, I always wanted to you know, sneak in and pretend I was him for a minute. So I'd like to do one of his songs now [Spoken]
I've lived most of the days of my life
Looking out behind me and sleeping with a knife
And I learned to get along from good advice
That if you knock the dealer down you don't let him get up twice
I'm old and I'm dying now
And I only have one care
I hope that where I'm going's gonna be a better place
Than this sunset road to nowhere
When I was young I found out for myself
That anything you want, well you've got to steal from off the shelf
'Cause you know that everyone's been taking what they can
And if you wait in line you'll be a hungry man
I'm old and I'm dying now
And I only have one care
I hope that where I'm going's gonna be a better place
Than this sunset road to nowhere
Than this sunset road nowhere
This sunset road nowhere
Wo oh wo oh
Ooh-ooh-ooh
I've done my share of hustling on the street
Well you know a man is judged by the shoes upon his feet
So I always made damn sure I got my share
'Cause if you don't clean your plate someone's bound to be there
I'm old and I'm dying now
And I only have one care
I hope that where I'm going's gonna be a better place
I hope that where I'm going's gonna be a better place
I hope that where I'm going's gonna be a better place
Than this sunset road to nowhere
Than this sunset road to nowhere
This sunset road to nowhere
This sunset road to nowhere
I've lived most of the days of my life
Looking out behind me and sleeping with a knife

he is a friend of mine
[Go to Song Page]
He is a friend of mine
He is a friend of mine
His killing had deep purpose
The saving of mankind
And he is a friend of mine
He died on the cross
He died upon the cross
The sky began to darken
And the sea began to toss
When he died upon the cross
Oh oh oh oh
Ooh hoo ooh ooh
The sky began to darken
And the sea began to toss
When he died upon the cross
He took away my shame
He took away my shame
Oh when he died to save us
He forgave us just the same
And he took away my shame
He is a friend of mine
He is a friend of mine
His killing had deep purpose
The saving of mankind
An' he is a friend of mine
The man's a friend of mine
Well he's a friend of mine
A-he's a friend of mine
Good night [Spoken]
He is a friend of mine
He is a friend of mine
His killing had deep purpose
The saving of mankind
And he is a friend of mine
He died on the cross
He died upon the cross
The sky began to darken
And the sea began to toss
When he died upon the cross
Oh oh oh oh
Ooh hoo ooh ooh
The sky began to darken
And the sea began to toss

He took away my shame
Oh when he died to save us

And he took away my shame

He is a friend of mine

Well he's a friend of mine
