How this compilation release was described by Larry at the time:
The soundtrack album to the very first documentary about the Jesus Movement as seen through the eyes of Lonnie Frisbee and the music of Larry Norman. Larry also appears in the film. The nineteen songs on this album are perhaps the most definitive songs Larry had written during his own Jesus Revolution. Some of them pre-date the Jesus Movement itself as though prophecying what was to come. Even the One Way sign started with Larry just as "I Wish We'd All Been Ready" was the first contemporary song to be written about the Second Coming. The tag ending of " ...You've been left behind, you've been left behind..." has been the source of phrasing for the multi-millions selling "rapture" series of Left Behind books and films.
"I Wish We'd All Been Ready" is also featured in "Tribulation II". (nee Left Behind II: Tribulation Force") released in 2002.
FRISBEE is a limited edition version CD, made specifically for The Elsinore Concert and Larry's final European concerts. We do not know if we will be making further copies.
In addition to the nineteen songs, Larry also writes briefly of his relationship with Lonnie and of the documentary film, FRISBEE.

Frisbee was sold in low quantities and replaced by the title Slinky within six months. Slinky incorporates all of the music as was used on the Frisbee CD, plus an additional five tracks

the outlaw
[Go to Song Page]
Some say he was an outlaw
That he roamed across the land
With a band of unschooled ruffians
And a few old fishermen
No one knew just where he came from
Or exactly what he'd done
But they said it must be something bad
That kept him on the run
Some say he was a poet
That he'd stand upon the hill
And his voice could calm an angry crowd
Or make the waves stand still
That he spoke in many parables
That few could understand
But the people sat for hours
Just to listen to this man
Some say he was a sorcerer
A man of mystery
He could walk upon the water
He could make a blind man see
That he conjured wine at weddings
And did tricks with fish and bread
That he talked of being born again
And raised people from the dead
Some say a politician
Who spoke of being free
He was followed by the masses
On the shores of Galilee
He spoke out against corruption
And he bowed to no decree
And they feared his strength and power
So they nailed him to a tree
Some say he was the son of God
A man above all men
But he came to be a servant
And to set us free from sin
And that's who I believe he was
'Cause that's who I believe
And I think we should get ready
'Cause it's time for us to leave
Some say he was an outlaw

when i first saw you
[Go to Song Page]
When I first saw you I was all alone
Wishing for a love I could call my own
Watching a dream step out of time
Suddenly this came to my mind
That maybe you
I'm hoping that maybe we
I'm praying that maybe you and I can spend our life together
La la la la la la la la la la la ah ah ah la la [x2]

sweet song of salvation
[Go to Song Page]
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na nada na
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na nada na na
When you know a pretty story
You don't let it go unsaid
You tell it to your children
As you tuck them into bed
And when you know a wonderful secret
You tell it to your friends
Because a lifetime filled with happiness
Is like a street that never ends
Alright
Sing that sweet sweet song of salvation
And let your laughter fill the air
Sing that sweet sweet song of salvation
And tell the people everywhere
Sing that sweet sweet song of salvation
To every man in every nation
Sing that sweet sweet song of salvation
An' let the people know that Jesus cares
Na na na na na na na na

why should the devil
[Go to Song Page]
A one two a one two three
I want the people to know
That he saved my soul
But I still like to listen to the radio
They say rock and roll is wrong
We'll give you one more chance
I say I feel so good I gotta get up and dance
I know what's right, I know what's wrong
I don't confuse it
All I'm really trying to say is
Why should the devil have all the good music
An’ I feel good every day
Because Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues away
They say to cut my hair
They're driving me insane
I grew it out long to make room for my brain
But sometimes people don't understand
What's a good boy doing in a rock and roll band
There's nothing wrong with playing blues licks
Well if you've got a reason, tell me to my face
Why should the devil have all the good music
There's nothing wrong with what I play, aaaah
Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues away
Allright
I ain't knocking the hymns
Just give me a song that has a beat
I ain't knocking the hymns
Just give me a song that moves my feet
I don't like none of those funeral marches
I ain't dead yet
Wow
Jesus told the truth
An’ Jesus showed the way
There's one more thing I'd like to say
They nailed him to the cross
And they laid him in the ground
But they shoulda known you can't keep a good man down
I feel good every day
I don't wanna lose it
All I wanna, all I wanna know is
Why should the devil have all the good music
I been filled, I feel okay
Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues
Ah Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues
Ah Jesus is the rock and he rolled my blues away, yeah
A one two a one two three
I want the people to know
That he saved my soul

why don't you look into jesus
[Go to Song Page]
Sipping whiskey from a paper cup
You drown your sorrows till you can't stand up
Take a look at what you've done to yourself
Why don't ya, you put the bottle back on the shelf
Yellow fingered from your cigarettes
Your hands are shaking while your body sweats
Why don't you look into Jesus
He got the answer
Gonorrhea on Valentine’s day, VD
And you're still looking for the perfect lay
You think rock and roll will set you free
Honey, you'll be deaf before you're thirty three
Shooting junk till you're half insane
A broken needle in your purple vein
Why don't you look into Jesus
He got the answer
Work all night
Sleep all day
You take your money
Throw it all away
You say you're gonna be a superstar
But you never hung around enough
To find out who you really are
Ah ah ow-ah-ow ow aw ah wow
Ah ah ah-ah-ow ah ah ah uh ooh
Think back to when you were a child
Your soul was free, your heart ran wild
Each day was different and life was a thrill
You knew tomorrow would be better still
But things have changed, you're much older now
If you're unhappy and you don't know how
Why don't you look into Jesus
He got the answer
Why don't you look into Jesus
He got the answer
Why don't you look into Jesus
He got the answer
Yes he does
Why don't you look into Jesus
He got the answer
He got the answer

moses
[Go to Song Page]
Moses tending sheep in the fields one day
When he thought he heard a burning scrub-brush say
Gotta free your people
From the Pharaoh's hand
Gotta take 'em all to the promised land
Moses knew that God was talking to him
So he set off to Egypt with a vigor and vim
And Moses bugged the Pharaoh, he bugged him
And he bugged him
'Till he got his people freed
He used real bugs
Yes indeed, ow ow
He got his people freed
Ow ow ow ow [x2]
Moses on the banks of the wide Red Sea
He stuck out a stick and one two three
The water rolled back
And the people walked down
Everybody knew they wouldn't drown
Pharaoh told his army to bring 'em all back
An' here come the chariots, clickety clack
Why Moses took his stick
And he closed up the water
An' the 'Gyptians all took a bath
Ow ow ow ow
What a laugh
Ow they all took a bath
Ow ow ow [cough] ow
Ow ow ow ow
Dirty 'Gyptians
Grab my foot, take my hand
Lead me on to the promised land
Milk and honey, milk and honey
Milk and honey, milk and honey
Me and all my people is here
So keep on sending manna
From the atmosphere
Milk and honey, milk and honey
Milk and honey, milk and honey
After forty long years in the wilderness
They finally saw their potential metropolis
They all gave thanks
And they all praised the Lord
Even though it took time he kept his word
He grab their foot and he tooken their hand
And he brung 'em all over
To the promised land
But it seems to me like an awful long time to be
Looking for a home
Ow ow ow ow
A mighty long roam, home
Looking for a home, a home a home
Never borrow money needlessly [cough]

baby out of wedlock
[Go to Song Page]
I had a baby out of wedlock
Her old man got me in a headlock
I was an unwed father
But don't bother feeling sorry for me
I took a lot of LSD
I smoked a lot of mar-ja-weenie
But it did not help me
It did not set me free
Jesus, why'd you go and do it
Why’d you help a guy like me
You saved me, you forgave me
And I swear you set me free
Aw, you took away my problems
One by one
I guess you knew what you was doing
When you sent your son
You know the way that I’ve been living
Has been taking without giving
And I hurt a lot of people
And I lost my friends
I spent a little time in prison
But I know the Lord has risen
And I'll never need
To be locked up again
Oh Jesus, why'd you go and do it
Why’d you help a guy like me
Saved me, you forgave me
And I swear you set me free
Aw, you took away my problems
One by one
I guess you knew what you was doing

ha ha world
[Go to Song Page]
Ha ha world
Every day I used to write you a letter
But you never wrote back
And you never made me feel any better
Always sat in here
Fretting and getting confused
Halfway desperate
For a headline of hope in the news
When the telephone rang
I spilled it all over my sweater
Oh yeah
The call was for me
And I answered the phone in the kitchen (Ha ha world, ha ha world)
But the room was too hot
I forgot I was cooking my chicken (Ha ha world, ha ha world)
I was burning like hell
But the stove wasn't on
Then the voice on the line
Says the chicken is gone
The receiver goes dead and it
Hums while the plot starts to thicken
Oh oh yeah oh
Would I have hung up the phone had I known
The whole room would start swaying (Ha ha world, ha ha world)
I was instantly cold
And I knew why my life wasn't paying (Ha ha world, ha ha world)
I had money and fame
But my wealth wasn't wise
What good are the coins on a dead man's eyes
And the ringing of chimes in my head
Said it's time to start praying
Oh oh yeah oh
I’ve been sitting here praying
And laying up treasures in heaven (Ha ha world, ha ha world)
I was home and the front door was locked
When the clock struck eleven (Ha ha world, ha ha world)
I heard the bride outside yell millennium
Though the sun was still up
The twelfth hour has come
The bible says
Without a vision the people perish
Ha ha world
Every day I used to write you a letter
But you never wrote back
And you never made me feel any better
Always sat in here
Fretting and getting confused
Halfway desperate

up in canada
[Go to Song Page]
When I was up in Canada
I didn't have much money
You know my toes were cold
And my clothes had holes
My nose was kind of runny
I met a long-hair on the street
He said look you look like you'd like to eat
I said a glass of coke and a hotdog's fine
He said well how 'bout some bread and a glass of wine
I said lead me on, lead me on, lead me on
Lead me on where you're going
I said my body's tired but my heart's inspired
My hunger's growing
Lead me on, lead me on, lead me on
Lead me on where you're going
I said my body's tired but my heart's inspired
My hunger's growing
He took a loaf of Wonder Bread
Then he bowed his head
Then he filled my cup, drink it up my friend
It tasted better than the health food blend
He looked straight in to my eyes
I was quite surprised
He said you're locked inside but I can set you free
You will live forever if you follow me
I said lead me on, lead me on, lead me on
Lead me on where you're going, wo-oh
I said my body's tired but my heart's inspired
My hunger's growing, wo-oh
A-lead me on, lead me on, lead me on
Lead me on where you're going, oh-oh-oh
I said my body's tired and my heart's inspired
My hunger's growing
Ah, when I was up in Canada
I didn't have much money
You know my toes were cold
And my clothes had holes
And my nose was kinda runny
It wasn't funny
I met a long-hair on the street
He said look you look like you'd like to eat
I said a glass of coke and a hotdog's fine
He said well how 'bout some bread and a glass of wine
I said lead me on, lead me on, lead me on

A-lead me on, lead me on, lead me on
Lead me on where you're going, wo-oh
I said my body's tired but my heart's inspired
My hunger's growing
I said break
Lead me on
Ah lead me on, lead me on, lead me on (Ah-ha)
Lead me on where you're going, wo-oh (Ah ha)
I said my body's tired but my heart's inspired (Ah-ha)
My hunger's growing, was it showing (Ah ha)
Lead me on, lead me on, lead me on (Ah-ha)
Lead me on where you're going, wo-oh (Ah ha)
I said my body's tired but my heart's inspired (Ah-ha)
My hunger's growing (Ah ha)
Hope it don't start snowing
Lead me on, lead me on, lead me on (Ah-ha)

Ah, when I was up in Canada
I didn't have much money
You know my toes were cold
And my clothes had holes
And my nose was kinda runny
It wasn't funny
I met a long-hair on the street
He said look you look like you'd like to eat
I said a glass of coke and a hotdog's fine
He said well how 'bout some bread and a glass of wine
I said lead me on, lead me on, lead me on
Lead me on where you're going, wo-oh
I said my body's tired but my heart's inspired
My hunger's growing, wo-oh
A-lead me on, lead me on, lead me on
Lead me on where you're going, wo-oh
Lead me on where you're going wo-oh (Ah ha)
I said my body's tired but my heart's inspired (Ah-ha)
My hunger's growing (Ah ha)
Wo-oh-oh
Lead me on, lead me on, lead me on (Ah-ha)
Lead me on where you're (Ah ha)
the rock that doesn't roll
[Go to Song Page]
Woo
I was lost and blind then a friend of mine
Came and took me by the hand
Then he led me to his kingdom
That was in another land
Now my life has changed, it's rearranged
When I think of my past I feel so strange
Wowie zowie well he saved my soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
He's the rock that doesn't roll
He's the rock that doesn't roll
Well he's good for the body and great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
I was all alone like a rolling stone
I was going nowhere fast
I was on the road so far from home
When the future touched my past
Now I feel so blessed 'cause he gave me a rest
And I finally feel like I've passed the test
I wanna be like him, yes that's my goal
Like a rock that doesn't roll
Oh he's the rock that doesn't roll
He's the rock that doesn't roll
Well he's good for the body and great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
Ah-ow-yow
I was lost and blind then a friend of mine
Came and took me by the hand
And he led me to his kingdom
That was in another land
Now my mind is blown, my head has grown
A solid rock ain't a rolling stone
Wowie zowie well the cat's got soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
Well, he's the rock that doesn't roll (he's the rock that doesn't roll)
He's the rock that doesn't roll (he's the rock that doesn't roll)
You know he's good for the body and great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't
Rock that doesn't
Rock that doesn't
Rock that doesn't roll
You've got to rock me on the water
You've got to rock me from my grave
You've got to rock me till I'm feeling good
You've got to rock me till I'm, rock me till I'm saved
He's the rock that doesn't roll
Well he's the rock that doesn't roll
Well he's good for the body and great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
I wanna tell you
He's the rock that doesn't roll
He's the rock that doesn't roll

I don't wanna lose you to somebody else
I wanna keep you all to myself
Don't wanna lose you, lose you
You keep me deeply satisfied
All of the time
You know I love you
All of the time
Don't wanna lose you, lose you
I was lost and hungry
Love, love is what you brung me
If I ever see you start to run around
I'll break down
I don't wanna lose you to somebody else
I wanna keep you all to myself
Don't wanna lose you, lose you
I was lost and hungry
Love, love is what you brung me
If I ever see you start to run around
I'll break down

country church, country people
[Go to Song Page]
Last Sunday there was preaching
We all went out to hear
The little church was crowded
The rich and poor were there
It was a splendid sermon
The singing full and free
Country church, country people
With their eyes upon the Lord
Built a church with a steeple
As a place to hear his word
You can live and die in the same small town
But the Lord spreads his love all around
The choir was dressed in glory (Ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Their voices dressed in love (Ooh ooh ooh)
The music told the story (Ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Of God who sent his son (Ooh ooh ooh)
How Jesus came from heaven (Ah ah ah ah)
To set the sinner free (Ah ah ah ah ah)
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now I'm found
Was blind but now I see
The choir was finished singing
And the congregation stood
While the spirit touched and filled them (Ooh ooh ooh ooh)
With power, love and good (Ooh ooh ooh)
From God who reigns in heaven (Ah ah ah ah)
Always watching every man (Ah ah ah ah ah)
And guiding all his children
With his kind protecting hand
Oh (Oh oh oh)
Country church, country people
With their eyes upon the Lord
Built a church with a steeple

one way
[Go to Song Page]
One way, one way to heaven
Hold up high your hands
One way, free and forgiven
Children of the lamb
Two roads diverged in the middle of my life
I heard a wise man say
And I took the one less traveled by
And that's made the difference every night and every day
So I say one way, one way to heaven
Hold your heads up high
Follow, free and forgiven
Children of the sky
Children of the sky
Yeah-oh-oh-oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Children of the sky
One way, one way to heaven
Hold up high your hands
One way, free and forgiven
Children of the lamb

feeling so bad
[Go to Song Page]
Well I'm feeling so bad in the middle of love
And it's easy to see that it isn't quite me that you're thinking of
Must be somebody else, but I'm wondering who
I can't seem to recall anybody at all who's in love with you
Every night you'll hear me say what a day
Well I saw you last week, you went out on the sly
You walked into some church, I suspected the worst, bet you met some guy
Then I waited outside, but you came out alone
With a satisfied look and a little black book, then you went straight home
Every night you'll hear me say what a day
Well I got something I wanna say to you
And this is what it is
So listen [Guitar solo]
Well this morning at ten, you invited me in
As you poured me some coffee you told me straight off that you'd found a friend
Well I wasn't surprised, no I wasn't surprised
Cause you look so content baby, I see a different look in your eyes
Every night you'll hear me say what a day [x2]
Aw ah

lonely by myself
[Go to Song Page]
If I could find someone who really cared for me
Someone to share my love and keep me company
If I could find someone, I'd let them take control
And in exchange for love I'd give my very soul
It's such a lonely life, I almost cry each night
'Cause fate has put me on the shelf
I get so lonely, so lonely by myself
If I could find someone who really loved me right
They'd make my life complete, they'd make my soul shine bright
I've looked around the world, I've walked down every street
Still I can't find no one to give me what I need
It's such a lonely life, I almost cry each night
'Cause fate has put me, fate has put me on the shelf
I get so lonely, so lonely by myself
I get so lonely, so lonely
So lonely by myself
Who can I turn to, is there anybody there
Doesn't anybody care
Oo-ooh, doesn't anybody listen
Doesn't anybody care
If I could find someone who really cared for me
Someone to share my love and keep me company
If I could find someone, I'd let them take control

shot down
[Go to Song Page]
I've been shot down, talked about
Some people scandalize my name
But here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same
I been knocked down, kicked around
But like a moth drawn to the flame
Here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same
Wo oh oh oh
I been rebuked for the things I've said
For the songs I've written and the life I've led
They say they don't understand me but I'm not surprised
Because you can't see nothing when you close your eyes
They say I'm sinful and backslidden
That I have left to follow fame
But here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same
Wo oh oh oh
Go Jonny
Yeah you wanna talk about my life, hey listen to me
You got your facts all backwards, one two three
And spreading rumors and gossip is a real bad game
The only name to spread is Jesus name
I've been shot down, kicked around
But like a moth drawn to the flame
Here I am, talking 'bout Jesus brother
Here I am, talking 'bout Jesus sister
Here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same
Wo oh oh oh
I've been shot down, talked about
Some people scandalize my name
But here I am, talking 'bout Jesus just the same

i am a servant
[Go to Song Page]
I am a servant, I am listening for my name
I sit here waiting, I've been looking at the game
That I've been playing, an' I've been staying much the same
When you are lonely, you're the only one to blame
I am a servant, I am waiting for your call (Aah aah)
I've been unfaithful, so I sit here in the hall
How can you use me when I've never given all
How can you choose me when you know I quickly fall
So you feed my soul and you make me grow
And you let me know you love me
And I'm worthless now, but I've made a vow
I will humbly bow before thee
Oh please use me, I am lonely
I am a servant, getting ready for my part
There's been a change, a rearrangement in my heart
At last I'm learning there's no returning once I start
To live's a privilege, to love is such an art
But I need your help to start
Oh please purify my heart
I am your servant
I am a servant, I am listening for my name
I sit here waiting, I've been looking at the game
That I've been playing, an' I've been staying much the same
When you are lonely, you're the only one to blame

nightmare 71
[Go to Song Page]
Aaaaah [Yawn like]
Last night I had that same old dream, it rocked me in my sleep
And left me the impression that the sandman plays for keeps
I dreamed I was in concert on the middle of a cloud
John Wayne and Billy Graham were giving breath mints to the crowd
I fell through a hole in heaven, I left the stage for good
And when I landed on the earth I was back in Hollywood
The California earthquake, it tore the land in half
While San Andreas cleared her throat I heard Psunami laugh
The ground began to tremble, the land began to sway
And people in the other states, they were glad they'd moved away
But suddenly California just floated in a breeze
While everything that wasn't sank down into the seas
And soon I saw Atlantis rumble and rise high
And the great egg of Euphrates came down out of the sky
Out stepped Shirley Temple with Guy Kibbee, who was dead
And that communist Bill Robinson, whom Shirley called black red
They had a marionette of Harpo Marx, they said it was a inside joke
But when I honked his horn he came alive and these were the words he spoke
With the continents adrift and the sun about to shift
Will the ice caps drown us all or will we burn
We've polluted what we own, will we reap what we have sown
Are we headed for the end or can we turn
We've paved the forest, killed the streams
Burned the bridges to our dreams
The earth is bursting at the seams
And in pain of childbirth screams
As it gives life to what seems
To either be an age that gleams
Or simply lays there dying
If this goes on will life survive, how can it
Out of the grave, oh who will save our planet
I said I'm pleased to meet you, I always thought you were a scream
He said have you ever thought of having Helen Keller in your dream
I said Errol Flynn dropped by but he tried to steal my girl
Then she ran off with Ronald Colman, said something about a new world
Now I'm stuck with my own cooking, hell I'm lonely can't you see
Well he grabbed my leg, he said exactly eighty nine words to me
Count 'em
Let the proud but dying nation kiss the last generation
It's the year of the pill, age of the gland
We have landed on the moon but we'll clutter that up soon
Our sense of freedom's gotten out of hand
We kill our children, swap our wives
We've learned to greet a man with knives
We swallow pills in fours and fives
Our cities look like crumbling hives
Man does not live, he just survives
Love is a corpse, we sit and watch it harden
We left it oh so long ago the garden
The strings snapped briskly then went slack, the marionette lay dead
While Hoover played with the motorcade the body slumped and bled
The man who held the camera disappeared into the crowd
I said the hope of youth, fictitious truth lays covered in a shroud
Then up walked Elmo Lincoln and he said I beg your pardon
But we left it oh so long ago the garden
We left it oh so long ago the garden [Echo on the last word]

i don't believe in miracles
[Go to Song Page]
I don't believe in miracles
I know what's real, I don't pretend
I don't believe in miracles
Or stories with a happy end
Life is no one's friend
But when we met I felt so free
And suddenly I felt a change come over me
Do you suppose a miracle is happening to me
I don't believe in miracles
I've been around, I've seen enough
The only way to get along you must be strong
You must be tough
Life is one big bluff
But then you opened up the door
An' I walked right in and all my fears fell on the floor
Do you suppose a miracle is happening to me
Pa [x35]
But then you opened up the door
An' I walked right in and all my fears fell on the floor
