The Final Concert |
2004
|
Upon returning home from the UK tour in 2001, Larry became extremely ill and it wasn't until mid 2003 that he felt strong enough to perform in concert. Even when this CD was released, almost a year later, Larry did not expect to ever perform live again. This release was described thus:
This is the CD of the last concert Larry performed, a year ago. It included friends and family members. Larry did some songs by himself, then invited his sister, Nancy, on stage to sing. Then Jason appeared with hand drums on a song, then switched to drums. Charles drifted onto the stage, then Karson, then Mike and Kristin. For his last concert Larry sang some of the songs from his albums, but then launched into songs he performed 38 years ago, like "Quit Kicking My Dog," and "Follow The Drinking Gourd." He approached this concert from a different emotion. He was saying goodbye. But he didn't want to be maudlin so he made the evening as much fun as he could

the outlaw
[Go to Song Page]
Some say he was an outlaw
That he roamed across the land
With a band of unschooled ruffians
And a few young fishermen
No one knew just where he came from
Or exactly what he'd done
But they said it might be something bad
That keeps him on the run
Some say he was a poet
That he'd stand upon the hill
And his words could calm an angry crowd
Or make the waves stand still
And he spoke in many parables
That few could understand
But the people sat for hours
Just to listen to this man
Some say he was a sorcerer
A man of mystery
He could walk upon the water
He could make a blind man see
And he conjured wine at weddings
And did tricks with fish and bread
He spoke of being born again
He raised people from the dead
Mmm mm mm [Very quietly]
Mm h-mmm h-mmm
Some say he was a radical
He talked of being free
He was followed by the masses
On the shores of Galilee
He spoke out against corruption
And he bowed to no decree
And they feared his strength and power
So they nailed him to a tree
Some say he was the son of God
A man above all men
But he came to be a servant
And to set us free from sin
And that's who I believe he was
And that's who I believe
I think we should be ready
When it's time for us to leave
And I think we should get ready
'Cause it's almost time a-to leave
[Sighs]

romans and such
Jesus came at a time when people weren't interested in what he had to say. Unh the structure of the Hebrew life was all organized and written down and the Roman empire had all of their laws and civilization was doing fine. There wasn't really much abuse between the Romans and the Jews. Um there was peace, more or less. The Romans kept the peace. If they had to kill you to make the peace happen they would, and you knew it so you didn't cause any trouble
And then Jesus come along and he starts saying he's the king of the Jews and they're saying well, we don't really want them to organize and, and start an infrastructure here, we, we got it all figured out. The Caesar, he's the, you know, he's the leader and, and uh we're not going to share power in this region with anybody and. And, and Jesus had a different message, they said where's your kingdom? And, and uh he told his followers that it's within you. And um
Mmm he, they were saying well why don't you and, and those twelve guys you hang around with, why don't they uh, like um, obey the rules? You're, you're kinda ignoring the Roman rules and you're making up your own Jewish rules. You know you, you walk around on the Sabbath, you're not supposed to do that. And well the Jews had a way around that, they just, they're only allowed to walk so far on the Sabbath. But there was a, a little footnote, uh so to speak, where they could, if they had to get their shoes they could walk over to get their shoes. So they'd just walk as far as they could walk and then take off their shoes and throw 'em. Then they'd walk over there and they'd throw 'em again and. So they had their way of getting around, you know
And um, I was singing with Johnny Cash back in the seventies and Kris Kristofferson came up on stage and he had trouble with his PA system, it was feeding back and, and uh, he was very discouraged, and he was singing some songs he'd written about Jesus. And uh, one of the songs had a lyric in, in it that said uh, I reckon they would nail him up if he came down again. And he was looking at the historical Jesus, and, and he wrote that song why me Lord, what have I ever done to deserve, you know any, anything from you. And he had so much trouble with the sound system and just walked off stage and said well, I guess the devil won that round. He was very discouraged
And uh I, I always kept thinking about what he'd said, reckon they'd nail him up if he came down again and, I mean certainly uh, if he were here eh lot of people would know who he is because we already read about him in the bible. But uh, that's if he had already come down once before. If he came down for the first time, well I don't think with all the news coverage he would get that it could do him much good. Uh there, he'd be in People Magazine, you know, in the Enquirer. Um, different groups would be claiming that he was one of them, like the, the, that group of those alien guys that said they had cloned somebody ah. They, they'd be saying he's one, he was in our group when he started out and, you know
And as it was um, oh and maybe the gay community would be saying that, that those boys over there, they're with us, or you know they're, they're, they're free and we wanna be free and, yeah I, I, I don't know. And then other people would deny it, they'd say, well, they're, they are not Republican so they have nothing to do with us, and the Democrats wouldn't claim 'em either like. So you know, what's that Jesus, what's his platform? And, and uh, is he, is he, is he being really coy or is he going to come out and say yes, I'm running for president? You know? We don't understand power that isn't used. If you have power in our society, in our, in our era, in our civilization, you use it 'cause it's commercial
But Jesus had all the power in the world, and he knew it, although other people didn't. But he could have called down the angels if he wanted to and he could have stopped anything or started anything. But he didn't utilize that power. He used the power of love. He spoke as a man to other men and women, and in, in a time when rabbis, teachers really did not talk to women, because that was against the rules too. And h', Jesus would stop and talk to the woman at the well who uh was not only a woman, but she was going to a well outside the city because she wasn't welcome to go to the more popular well, because of her orientation, romantic liaisons of the past and she was looked down upon
So here we are at this time in civilization waiting for Jesus to come back and um, bible says that only God knows when that'll be. Jesus isn't, said it himself, even he didn't know. Um but, um, a while back there were some people who knew when he was coming back. He was coming back at midnight, uh turn of the millennium. And he had to come back 'cause all the computers were going to fail and the bombs would start going off and it was the end of the world so people made sure for months that they bought enough groceries to put in their, you know, garage so they could stock up for the end of the world. And um I don't know if they were planning to eat all the groceries during one meal, 'cause the end of the world's not gonna to take very long
[Starts playing guitar] And I have an idea that this is kind of being the age of Aquarius, uh if you're a hippie, and believing that there can't be life only on this planet 'cause there's so many other planets. How could it be that there would only be life here, it just doesn't make sense to somebody who buys The Enquirer

He's an unidentified flying object
You will see him in the air
He's an unidentified flying object
And you will drop your hands and stare
You will be afraid to tell your neighbors
They might think that it's not true
But when they open up the morning papers
They will know they've seen him too
And he will come back like he promised
With the price already paid
He will gather up his followers
And take us all away
He's an unidentified flying object
He will sweep down from the sky
He's an unidentified flying object
And some will sleep but will not die
He's an unidentified flying object
Coming back to take you home
He's an unidentified flying object
And he will roll away your stone
And if there's life on other planets
I'm sure that he must know
And he's been there once already
And has died to save their souls
He's an unidentified flying object
You will see him in the air
He's an unidentified flying object

I don't believe in Beatles, I don't believe in rock
I don't believe in the cutting edge, that's just journalist talk
I don't believe in the cover story or even the gospel charts
'Cause you can easily hit number one with a bullet but totally miss the heart
But I, a-yes I, I believe in God
I don't believe in politics while the masses stay unfed
Until the leaders change realities and feed the poor some bread
I don't believe in Esperanto or the dreams of Babylon
If we all spoke the same language, long ago we would'a built the bomb
I don't know the words to this song
But that don't bother me if it don't bother you
I could just sing the wrong lyrics all night long
I'm taking suggestions
Anybody have a verse they think I might wanna sing [Spoken]
I don't believe in evolution, I was born to be free
Ain't gonna let no palaeontologist make a monkey out of me
I don't believe the devil's lies, ain't gonna be his slave
And when I'm finished dying I'm gonna bust out of my grave
I, yes I, I believe in God

Thank you [Spoken]

I was born and raised an orphan
In a land that once was free
In a land that poured its love out on the moon
And I grew up in the shadows
Of your silos filled with grain
But you never helped to fill my empty spoon
And when I was ten you murdered law
With courtroom politics
And you learned to make a lie sound just like truth
But I know you better now
And I don't fall for all your tricks
And you've lost the one advantage of my youth
You kill a black man at midnight
Just for talking to your daughter
Then you make his wife your mistress
And you leave her without water
And the sheet you wear upon your face
Is the sheet your children sleep on
At every meal you say a prayer
You don't believe but still you keep on
And your money says in God we trust
But it's against the law to pray in school
You say we beat the Russians to the moon
I say you starved your children to do it
You were far across the ocean
And the war was not your own
While you were winning theirs
You also lost the war at home
Did you really think the only way
To bring about real peace
Was to sacrifice your young men
To kill all your enemies
Your politicians all make speeches
And your news men all take notes
And they exaggerate false issues
As they shove them down our throats
Is it really up to them
Whether our nation sinks or floats
Well I wonder who would lead us
If none of us would vote
My phone is tapped, my lips are chapped
From whispering through the fence
You know every move I make
Or is that just coincidence
Will you try to make my way of life
A little less like jail
If I promise to make tapes and slides
And send them through the mail
And your money says in God we trust
But it's against the law to pray in school
You say we beat the Russians to the moon
I say you starved your children to do it
You say all men are equal, all men are brothers
But why are the rich more equal than others
Don't ask me for the answers, I've only found one
That a man leaves his darkness when he follows the son

arafat, bush and american money
It's really distressing being home for the last two years and watching TV. I mean the news. CNN you know, it's the most trusted name in entertainment. Ah, and um I'm just always shocked and I always think well nothing could shock me more, but then I'm always shocked again when somebody else finds a reason to drag God into court and sue him. Get his name offa some plaque or, you know off the wall, maybe out of the Pledge of Allegiance, move some monument twenty feet an'
Um, 'cause it's disturbing when people see the name God, 'specially if they're thinking ahead, their future probably. And uh I just think, you know it's a democracy. And if they don't wanna have anything to do with anything that has to do with God, I'd like to walk up to 'em and say, you know, I'd like to help you get rid of that stuff, that God stuff an' so um, what's in your wallet? I'll take it. There's a lot of starving kids all over the world who'd like to know about God and, and they can read all about it, I'll just send them that green stuff. All that green and blue stuff. That green, blue and pink stuff. That green, blue and pink stuff with all the 20s flying around in yellow on the back, and the strip down the side, and the watermark, and the, and the wavy lines, and um, I thought Monroe was dead. Maybe they got some kindergarten kids to figure that one out. Haaaa
It's okay, talk about other stuff in our society, like you can say bad words on TV during family hour, you know, 'cause, I mean most of the kids hear it around the dinner table anyway. Might as well wight, let life and art be unified you know. Let TV reflect the reality of the abuse that's going on in a lot of houses. So it's okay to have bad, bad language coming from moms and dads on sitcoms. And um, it's okay to show all kinds of terrible stuff. Like on that island. I don't know which one it is, there's a bunch of islands, people keep going to islands an', and I guess it's hot 'cause they keep taking off most of their clothes. Temptation Island, um, Survivor Island. Hmm yeah it's, people don't like it when it's hot. I'm just thinking ahead to their future
Yeah but don't say God's name 'cause that's like really blasphemous. Don't say Jesus 'cause that's really disgusting too man. You know, it's okay to say Arafat. That's okay. Didn't he get a Nobel Peace Prize? Did he? Did he, I heard that, I did, but I heard it on a comedy show so I don't know if it was real. Did he get a Nobel Peace Prize? When did that happen? Must have happened before this last two years right, 'cause I was busy for the last thirty. Well anyway, so he's a man of peace, that's good to know 'cause you always like to know who's shooting at you. Oh don't worry about him, he's going to miss. It's his obligation. His followers won't but, you know. His gun is loaded with blanks just in case it goes off accidentally
I just hate what I'm seeing in the world. What a mess. I, I, I asked my sister, 'cause I often go to her, she's got a lot of wisdom, and I said, you know we're over in Iraq now and that's just, it's not working out the way the comic book, um version was eh. 'Cause eh didn't they describe the whole thing like it was just going to take a couple of hours and, and um, then they were gonna go to North Korea or South Korea an' and then they're gonna go to. I don't know, I don't try to follow it 'cause I figure if it's really important news, I'd hear about it even if I didn't watch the television, 'cause like you know, world war three, I'd probably hear about it even if I didn't bother to watch it, keep up with it. Okay one bomb has hit the c', okay now that's two bombs. Okay now three bo'. I don't really wanna, you know. It's too slow, too slow
Um, it's discouraging. It's discouraging to call evil good and good evil. I asked my sister, do you think that President Bush would be embarrassed like if, if uh, he didn't get r-r-reelected because of the war going bad, and she said I don't think so. He didn't, he, he wasn't embarrassed during the last election when he didn't get elected. And uh, and my sister's, she's got a lot of wisdom, you know. Eh w', none of us are political, we're all bipartisan, which just means you know we just sit back and watch everything and go what a crazy. Ha. Man, you know
I mean w', w', I, I, I went to the White House and sang for Nixon, and then I went to the White House and sang for Carter. See I don't take sides, I just, I, I'm just going there to sing about Jesus. And um, and I felt bad for Carter when um, they wouldn't let those hostages go and that kind of ruined his re election, and they let 'em go like the day after he lost the election, and that just proved they coulda let 'em go the week before and then maybe he'd have w', won the election. They were just being mean you know. But eh but he was kind of a nice guy and I don't know if you can have really nice people in the White House. I mean we've never had any except for him. And, and uh, if I had been president at that time, I would have just told, you know, like the um Iranians to let the hostages go or, or, or tomorrow we're gonna crash the helicopters even closer. I would have told the Russians, get your troops out of Afghanistan or, or no more Levi's. You know you gotta use the power and force of a democratic nation to some good purpose
[Starts playing guitar]
There's a sign on the Hollywood Boulevard, some guy painted it, said I, I know I told you that Ronald Wilson Reagan was the antichrist, but I was wrong. It's really Bush. And I think he thought Ronald Wilson Reagan was the antichrist 'cause he had six letters in each of his names, you know, so. And uh, eh whoever's coming is gonna be real popular. Schwarzenegger's pretty popular. I don't know how many letters he has in his name, I, I can't spell it
[Spoken]
Um, 'cause it's disturbing when people see the name God, 'specially if they're thinking ahead, their future probably. And uh I just think, you know it's a democracy.
I don't know how many letters he has in his name, I, I can't spell it
[Spoken]
six sixty six
[Go to Song Page]
In the midst of the war he offered us peace
He came like a lover from out of the east
With the face of an angel and the heart of a beast
His intentions were six sixty six
He walked up to the temple with gold in his hand
And he bought off the priests and propositioned the land
And the world was his harlot and laid in the sand
While the band played six sixty six
[Mimics banjo solo]
It's on the record [Spoken]
[Mimics banjo solo]
We served at his table and slept on the floor
But he starved us and beat us, and nailed us to the door
Well I'm ready to die, I can't take any more
And I'm sick of his lies and his tricks
You know he told us he loved us, that was a lie
There was blood in his pockets and death in his eyes
Well my number is up and I'm ready to die
If the band will play six
If the band will play six sixty
If the band will play six sixty six
[Mimics banjo]
Thank you, thank you [Spoken]

song for a small circle of friends
[Go to Song Page]
Well my life is filled with songs
But I just could not get along without my friends
And I'm happy now but when this good life ends
I know a better life begins
And love to you sir Stonehill
With your guitar full volume on your amp
You're so crazy but you know it
And I still love you as we both crawl toward the lamp
With Clapton on guitar
Charlie Watts on drums bmm fmm dn dn dn dn
McCartney on the Hofner bass
With blisters on his thumbs
Ooh
Dear Dylan watch your fears all hide
And disappear while love inside keeps growing
Let it keep growing
You're older but less colder
Than the jokes and folks you spent your childhood snowing
Yes you did, yes you did
And someone died for all you friends
But even better yet he lives again
And if these words do not appeal to you
I hope his spirit slips on through
He loves you
He loves you, God loves you
And if these songs do not make sense to you
I hope his spirit slips on through
He know Jesus loves you
Ah aah
I'll see you in a little while [Spoken]

don't turn it up
Would you please welcome once again Larry Norman. ??? [Spoken by compere]
What a mess it is up here. Go away for a few minutes and
And, I think this is the part where I usually say can you turn it up. But Larry, we don't have very much time tonight so we'll just skip, skip it. Since people think I never really mean it they go that's part of the act. He does that all the time. Yeah, see, I do it all the time except when there's a good sound man [Spoken]

i wish we'd all been ready
[Go to Song Page]
Life was filled with guns and war
Everyone got trampled on the floor
I wish we'd all been ready
Children died, the days grew cold
A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold
I wish we'd all been ready
There's no time to change your mind
The son has come and you've been left behind
A man and wife asleep in bed
She hears a noise and turns her head, he's gone
I wish we'd all been ready
Two men walking up a hill
One disappears, one's left standing still
I wish we'd all been ready
There's no time to change your mind
The son has come and you've been left behind
Life was filled with bombs and guns
Heaven help these little ones who die
I hope they'll all be ready
Iraq
I hope you'll get us all ready
There won't be time to change our minds
And no excuse for being blind
Palestine
The father spoke
Demons dined
The son has come
Don't get left behind

you gotta quit kicking my dog around
[Go to Song Page]
[Larry], [Nancy], [Both]
So I would like to introduce you to my sister Nancy
[Starts playing guitar]
Um, I think the last time we sang this was thirty
Eight years ago, thirty eight years ago
Yeh. So, we might be asking you for the lyric [Spoken]
[Laughs]
Every time I go to town
The boys keep kicking my dog around
Makes no difference if he is a hound
You gotta quit kicking my dog around
Wa-ooh
Wa-ooh
Well I saw a little boy walking down the street
His pockets full a' hands and his shoes full of feet
I saw a little boy walking down the street
His pockets full a' hands and his shoes full of feet
Wa-ooh
Wa-ooh
I've got a dog with a basketball nose [x3]
The reason I say that is 'cause it's always dribbling all over the place [Spoken]
Wa-ooh / Every time I
Oh [Spoken]

Makes no difference if he is a hound

Wa-ooh
Wa-ooh
My dog lives in the country with the birds and the bees
He don't like the city 'cause it ain't got trees
Larry wrote all these lyrics
[Laughs]
And I love 'im
You love, you love 'em?
I love you
Oh you love me, I thought you meant you love the lyrics / I do not love them
Oh. I love 'em, yeah. Eh-um [Spoken]
My dog
I've got a dog and his name is Phydeaux [x3]
My dog's name is Spot
Every time I go to town
The boys keep kicking my dog around
Makes no difference if he is a hound
You gotta quit kicking my dog around
Wa-ooh
Wa-ooh
My dog's bigger than your dog
No [Spoken]
My dog's bigger than yours
No, no, no [Spoken]
My dog's bigger 'cause he keep eats Ken-L Rations
No. That, that is a prevaricated falsification. His dog is a grizzly bear [Spoken]

So I'd like to sing a song about this, this is a song we used to sing together. We were in a group called the Back Country 7. There was eight of us. I always was ornery. And 'em this was during the, what they used to call the Hootenanny years, and you couldn't sing at the school unless you sang folk music. So being rather seditious I would eh sing songs that were uncomfortable to hear about, or sing songs in a folk style making fun of rock and roll, because it was really rock and roll songs making fun of folk music. And um, you gotta start somewhere. If you're gonna try and change the world you know, you have to, you have to start bugging people when you're young [Spoken by Larry]

follow the drinking gourd
[Go to Song Page]
You gotta follow the drinking gourd
Follow the drinking gourd
For the old man is waiting to carry you to freedom
Follow the drinking gourd
This song means something. It's kind of a code. Black people didn't openly discuss their plans for escape around their white masters. When they talked about the river Jordan they were actually talking about the ocean. Getting back to the promised land was talking about getting back to Africa. And the drinking gourd was the big dipper in the sky, because the handle of the big dipper just happened to point north. And if you did make an escape at night you could follow the stars to the north. So that's what this song is about [Spoken]
You gotta follow the drinking gourd
You gotta follow the drinking gourd
For the old man is waiting to carry you to freedom
Follow the drinking gourd
When the sun comes up and the first quail call
Follow the drinking gourd
The river bank makes a mighty fine road
Follow the drinking gourd
For the old man is waiting to carry you to freedom
Follow the drinking gourd
Well I thought I heard the angel say
Follow the drinking gourd
Follow the stars and they will show you the way
Follow the drinking gourd
For the old man is waiting to carry you to freedom
Follow the drinking gourd
There’s a blood stained path and a shiny blade
Follow the drinking gourd
If someone comes you better duck for shade
Follow the drinking gourd
For the old man is waiting to carry you to freedom
Follow the drinking gourd
You gotta follow the drinking gourd
You gotta follow the drinking gourd
For the old man is waiting for to carry you to freedom
Follow the drinking gourd

what was wrong
[Guitar starts]
Just slow it down a little
[Sighs]
It was against the rules to dance at my church. Well, lotta stuff was a sin, you know, it was a sin to smoke, which was okay by me. And a sin to a drink. My grandpa let me have a sip of beer and um that was the last sip I ever had. That stuff's bad. Maybe it's better for you than Diet Coke though
And then I found out that uh there was something in San Francisco where we lived um, movie theaters. Well I had never been to one and I asked about it and then found out that it was a sin to go to the movies. In fact that's why they called it cinema, so you'd know
And in Sunday school they taught us that David, King David, danced before the throne. And I thought well, eh, that's wrong. But I'd figured out it was okay if nobody saw you. So I'd go in my room and I'd dance. Not because I really wanted to, I'd never had any interest in it until they said you shouldn't do it

i dance before the throne
[Go to Song Page]
My feet are on the rock, my name is on a roll, yea-eh-eh-eh-eh
Moving and a grooving, it don't satisfy my soul
When I’m down I go off on my own
And when I feel the need I dance before the throne
The people at my church
My friends down at the school
They think that I am crazy Lord
They think that I'm a fool
But I believe someone rolled away the stone
And when I feel the need I dance before the throne
Take it easy, nice and slow
Feel his presence, don’t you know
If he says follow, I will go
I feel like dancing, he saved my soul
Oh yeah
Goliath had a sword, David had a stone
I have got the Lord, I am not alone
I won't, if you knock me down brother
I will not fight you back
'Cause God loves all his children
Red, white, yellow, brown and black
Well my feet are on a rock, my name is on a roll
Moving and a grooving, it will never really satisfy your soul
When I’m down I just go off into my room
I get all alone, that's right
And when I feel the need I dance before the throne
Thank you, thanks
Yeah

[Go to Song Page]
Well I, I'd like to sing some more of that rock and roll stuff but I'm gonna need your help, I uh, mmm it's kinda out of my range. Hi Kristin. So eh you can join me, and I mean it really, sing The Rock That Doesn't Roll so then I don't have to sing the whole thing by myself, okay [Spoken]
[Music starts]
You know that song, The Rock That Doesn't Roll? Okay [Spoken]
Feedback yeah [Spoken]
I was lost and blind then a friend of mine
Came and took me by the hand
And he led me to his kingdom
That was in another land
Now my life has changed, it's rearranged
When I think of my past I feel so strange
Wowie zowie he saved my soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
Well he's the rock that doesn't roll
He's the rock that doesn't roll
You know he's good for the body and great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
I was all alone like a rolling stone
I was going nowhere fast
I was on that road so far from home
When the future touched my past
You know I feel so blessed 'cause he gave me a rest
I finally feel like I've passed the test
I wanna be like him, yeah that's my goal
Like a rock that doesn't roll
Your turn [Spoken]
(Well he's the rock that doesn't roll
He's the rock that doesn't roll woo
He's good for the body and great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll)
Oww
Well he's the rock that doesn't roll
He's the rock that doesn't roll
(He's good for the body and great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't
Rock that doesn't
Rock that doesn't
Rock that doesn't)
You've got to rock me on the water
Rock me from my grave
Rock me till I'm feeling good
You've got to rock me till I'm saved
He's the rock that doesn't roll
He's the rock that doesn't roll
You know he's good for our body, great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
I wanna tell you
He's the rock (that doesn't roll)
Keep on rocking
(He's the rock that doesn't roll)
Keep on rolling
Good for the body, great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
Baan

He's the rock (that doesn't roll)
Keep on rocking
(He's the rock that doesn't roll)
Keep on rolling
Good for the body, great for the soul
He's the rock that doesn't roll
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
Baan
[Nancy laughs]
[Larry clears throat]
the end
Yeh that reminds me. What do you call, like in a band you know, you got sometimes one van or two vans or, and a bunch of equipment. What do you call that guy that hangs around with the musicians? A drummer [Kristin laughs]
Yeah. And uh, well now we've come to the end of a, a nice evening and it's time to go home, and remember if you're on your bikes wear white. So from all of us to all of you, we're not finished yet
Alright, here's another song for you degenerate people
[Song starts]
I expect some help with this one too
[Spoken]

[Go to Song Page]
[Song starts towards end of preceding track]
I expect some help with this one too [Spoken]
Sipping whiskey from a paper cup
You drown your sorrows till you can't stand up
Take a look at what you done to yourself
Why don't ya put the bottle back on the shelf
Yellow fingers from your cigarettes
Your hands are shaking while your body sweats
Why don't you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
You've got [mumbles] on Valentine’s day
You're still looking for the perfect
You think that rock and roll will set you free
You'll be deaf before you're thirty three
You're shooting junk till you're half insane
A broken needle in your purple vein
Well why don't you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
You work all night
Sleep all day
Take your money
Throw it all away
You say you're gonna be a superstar
But you never hung around enough
To find out who you really are
Alright boy [Spoken]
[Indistinct talking]
Yeah do it [Spoken]
Alright
A-think back to when you were a child
Your soul was free, your heart ran wild
Each day was different, life was a thrill
You knew tomorrow would be better still
But things have changed, you're much older now
If you're unhappy and you don't know how
Why don't you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
Why don't you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
Why don't you look into Jesus
He's got the answer
He's got the answer
Woo
Good night, God bless [Spoken]
