lyrics version 1
Do you hear the music baby
It’s all around
Do you feel the rhythm baby
It goes up and down
Do you see the organ grinder
He’s a grinding man
He’s got a beautiful box full of music
In his hand
When I’m with the organ grinder
He gets me going
Ahh he moves me baby
From a-head to soul
And then I get a deep pulsation
In my heart
I can’t stop moving baby
A-once I start wa-ah-ah
Wow right
Do you hear the music baby
It’s all around
Do you feel the rhythm baby
It goes a-up and down
Keep your eye on the organ grinder
He’s a grinding man
He’s got a beautiful box full of music
In his hand wa-ah-ah
Ahheeow, right
Aaah [under breath]
(Organ grinder) Jus’ so fine [x2]
(Organ grinder) Here it comes [x3]
(Organ grinder) A-here it comes [x2]
(Organ grinder) Well here it comes
(Organ grinder) Ah baby yeah
(Organ grinder) Ahhh baby
(Organ grinder) Aooowwu don’ leave me baby
(Organ grinder) Aooowwu baby
(Organ grinder) Ah baby
(Organ grinder) Ow-ah don’
(Organ grinder) Leave me
(Organ grinder) Wooooow
It’s all around

After joining People!, Larry quickly emerged as their principle songwriter. When challenged to write a 'commercial' or 'hit' song, as those he had been writing were not viewed as such, Larry set off to write the worst song he could imagine, as a sort of protest. To his horror, the management and record company liked it and released it as the bands first single
