LYRICS:
Who needs it, who needs it Is the glory worth the pain Who wants it, who wants it And what is there to gain Never knowing where I'm going I play the unreality game I satisfy my fantasy And lose my sanity Sometimes I can't remember my name I'll never have an Oscar on my shelf I'll never have a chauffeured limousine I'll end up working days and nights And never see my name in lights Always hoping somehow I'll be seen We're stuck in this bag but he wants it Will the end ever justify the means Spend our days slinging hash Waiting for our chance to crash At stardom from the gutter Living on peanut butter Who needs it, who needs it It's not what it seems Who wants it, who wants it It's nothing but dreams I could have been a baron in the business world And made a fortune working nine to five Go home to your wife and daughter TV set, scotch and water But soon you cease to be alive Could have become a great jewel thief And live in high society You'd wind up getting busted Could uncle Fred be trusted Spend a lifetime trying to stay free We're stuck in this bag but he wants it Will the end ever justify the means Spend our days slinging hash Waiting for our chance to crash At stardom from the gutter Living on peanut butter Who needs it, who needs it It's not what it seems Who wants it, who wants it It's nothing but dreams Who needs it, we need it We've got to survive It makes us, it breaks us, Torments us, rejects us But we made it We need it To keep us alive |
A short segment from Hamlet.
Rosencranz and Guilderstern make plans to go to "the big city". Hamlet is going with them. They are carrying a sealed envelope which they are to give to the boatman. They do not know that the envelope has orders to kill them. They are very optimistic about their future but don't have a future. Hamlet does not know what is in the sealed envelope either, but his intuition makes him escape before completing his journey. He returns to the castle with plans of killing his uncle who has killed his father, married his mother and become King.
