Buttercup
The only known recordings of this song were full studio takes (at least two) made on acetates in 1968 or 1969
Version 1 is a full studio recording. I believe the version as used on Archive was taken from a compact cassette labelled "The Beechwood Demos (1966-1969)", which contains several acetate transfers from the period

lyrics version 1
I just got in town
Thought I'd call you up
'Cos I'd like to see you
Buttercup
How 'bout some dinner
And some soft conversation
A glass of wine
The evening is yours
And the pleasure's mine
We'll catch a movie show and then go
To some nice (nice) little restaurant
Then after dinner I'll take you home
And we can do just what we want
Oo-uh
Just being near you
Speeds up
My circulation
Buttercup
Ooh buttercup
We'll catch a movie show and then go
To some nice little restaurant
Then after dinner I'll take you home
And we can do just what we want
Ooh ooh ooh
I just got in town
Thought I'd call you up
'Cos I'd like to see you
Buttercup
Oh buttercup
Thought I'd call you up
'Cos I'd like to see you
Buttercup
How 'bout some dinner
And some soft conversation
A glass of wine
The evening is yours
And the pleasure's mine
We'll catch a movie show and then go
To some nice (nice) little restaurant
Then after dinner I'll take you home
And we can do just what we want

To some nice little restaurant
Then after dinner I'll take you home
And we can do just what we want

Thought I'd call you up
'Cos I'd like to see you
Buttercup
Oh buttercup
Solid Rock auctioned this acetate in June 2014: Charles Norman described it as follows: [Note that two or three further acetates were later discovered, revealing at least two different takes].
Awesome! Larry wrote and sang on this supercool '60s pop artifact. It has a full band and it sounds fantastic. Nobody has ever heard this song (or heard of it, probably) and that's a shame, because it's THAT cool!
Only one was pressed. It's ultra rare. And it can be ultra yours.
Happy bidness.
